• July RUM: July 26th 7PM FunSQL and SQL

  26 Jul 19:00

  A couple of presentations this month:

  • Matt Bauer - FUNSQL, new features in PostgreSQL and power usage of SQL
  • Phil Crissman - RVM

  We will also have a hack session (before and after the session). I will remain at refactr until the last hacker leaves or midnight whichever comes first!

  Talks @ 7PM, come early to chat and hack with your fellow Rubyists. Location is, as always, the wonderful Refactr offices (thanks Refactr!)

  We will have pizza and refreshment courtesy Atomic Datacenters (http://www.atomicdatacenters.com/), your friendly neighborhood hosting provider. Come early for pizza (I pick it up around 6:30PM).

• June RUM: Audio Processing, RailsConf Recap and Hacking

  The meeting this month will be a bit different. We have one presentation followed by a discussion on RailsConf and then a hacking session:

  • Ben Ortega will talk "Audio Processing with JRuby"

  After that we will discuss the recent RailsConf, if you attended please consider coming to this meeting and talking. We will also have a hack session. I will remain at refactr until the last hacker leaves or midnight whichever comes first!

  The meeting this month is a week early due to Memorial Day. As always 2 presentations:

  • Jon Dahl will talk to us about writing threaded apps in Ruby
  • Subramanya Sastry will discuss his javascript widget library (http://github.com/subbuss/jsWidgets) and http://newsrack.in

• March RUM: Web Interface Essentials and Titanium

  We have 2 awesome presentations this month:

  • Marc Grabanski - Web Interface Essentials: developing interfaces with jQuery, jQuery plugins and jQuery UI
  • Kevin Whinnery - iPhone and Android Apps with Titanium (using pure javascript)

  The Nerdery Overnight Website Challenge is the weekend prior to this meeting so hopefully some of the participants (myself included) can let us know how it went.

  I have yet to locate a sponsor so no free pizza and beer this month. Please feel free to come @ 6:30 and hang out prior to the presentations.
